Innoskate at the Smithsonian

I was honored to have been chosen to speak about women in skateboarding during Innoskate held at the Smithsonian on Go Skateboard DayInnoskate is a major public festival designed to celebrate invention and creativity in skate culture. A donation of skateboard artifacts to the national sports history collections took place, along with panel discussions about skate technology, fashion, and tricks- including myself, Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen, Paul Schmitt, Cindy Whitehead, among others. It is amazing to see an institution like the Smithsonian embrace skateboarding and the culture that surrounds it! Thanks to the Smithsonian, the Lemelson center, and Innoskate for the honor.

Mimi_smithsonianI donated this deck to the Smithsonian along with some news clippings from the Alliance!
